Nio’s budget brand Onvo has made an impressive first impression with its L60 electric SUV. Equipped with a powerful 240kW rear motor, this car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
With a drag coefficient of just 0.2229, this crossover car stands out amongst its peers as being among the slickest. Furthermore, its 900V fast charging capabilities reduce charging breaks to mere minutes.
Power
The L60 features single-motor rear-wheel drive configuration offers peak power of 240 kW, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in only 5.9 seconds. A dual motor four wheel drive variant adds 100 kW for 345 horsepower output.
Both versions of this car feature an aerodynamic design with an impressive drag coefficient of Cd 0.229, further decreasing energy consumption. Furthermore, its 900-volt battery system boasts faster charging times than competitors to reduce lengthy refueling breaks into impressively brief intervals.
Driver-oriented cabin features include a 17.2-inch 3K retina display in the front seat and an 8-inch entertainment display for rear passengers that supports landscape/portrait mode switchability, various apps, and can charge devices up to 3.3kW in power capacity.
Range
Nio sub-brand Onvo’s debut model is the L60, with hopes to surpass Tesla Model Y in terms of budget EV sales. Equipped with sophisticated driver aids and a unique battery-as-a-service scheme that could bring upfront prices down below $22,500 when choosing its 60 kWh version.
Onvo claims its 900V fast charging system will reduce refueling times to mere minutes, giving it an edge over comparable vehicles such as Avatr 11 and Audi Q4 e-tron that cannot match these figures.
Onvo’s L60 is designed to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds for single rear-wheel drive models and 4.6s with dual motor options – numbers which may not blow your mind but should suffice for most buyers.
