Ford plans to obtain fuel economy by creating a new generation of twin-turbo engines: two turbochargers on four-cylynder, a V6 and a V8.
Derrick Kuzak, group vice president for global product development, said that the new engines will deliver diesel-like fuel economy.Diesel engines offer a 25 - 30 % fuel economy compared with gasoline engines of the same size.Lincoln MKS will be the first vehicle who will use the “twin-force” technology.
