Mercedes A-Class may live after all

Few days ago Automotive News reported that the next generation of the Mercedes A-Class, that was supposed to be built in 2011, had been canceled for no reason.The German magazine Auto Bild appear to say the contrary.They are reporting that Mercedes and BMW are talking about using the Mini platform as the basis for the both companies next generation of small cars.
The current generations of both cars are unique in their respective lineups as front wheel drive models and share few parts with their stablemates.The two German automakers are planning to cooperate because in this way they will save a lot of costs on their next iteration of these models.The big advantage will be for Mercedes because the automaker is planning to replace the A-Class in 2011 and all the things probable will go smoother having as a partner the Bavarian automaker .
