Bugatti Veyron Targa on its way
Published by admin on Tagged Released
The VW Group announced the future release of the Targa version of Bugatti Veyron. It will sure be quite an experience to drive a 987bhp 6.0 liter W16 engine. The new model will feature a removable hard- top roof panel, but it won’t be a full convertible as the Targa- style opening is the only roof that can fit inside Veyron’s safety cage. Still, there will be no space for the hard-top to be stored inside the car when removed.
Due to the removable roof the structural rigidity will be lost, meaning that engineers will have to reinforce the car’s chassis. It is a process which will add 1,950kg kerb-weight , resulting a heavier car and less performance of the Targa. The maximum speed will be limited to 217mhp which is still faster than the Pagani Zonda Roaster.

The Veyron Targa is expected to come off officially during a major auto show in 2009. Only 80 pieces will be built, against 300 for the coupe. The price for the Targa is heard to be around the sum of £900.000. We can say it is a good price considering that the “standard” Veyron costs around £840.000.
